an unrivalled experience in intimacy and comfort.
It combines a spacious soft seat house with exceptional
acoustics and sightlines, sprung stage floor, computerized
lighting, extensive sound equipment, state-of-the-art
LCD projection equipment and theatre support spaces
that can comfortably accommodate a variety of performances,
presentations and cultural events. With
a seating capacity of 336, the Terry Fox Theatre
is the largest venue in the north-east sector
encompassing the cities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam,
and Port Moody. The Tri-Cities region offers touring
professionals and community presenters access
to a combined population of more than 250,000
residents with an appetite for a variety of performance-based
experiences.
The
theatre is primarily a rental facility that serves
as an ideal venue for touring professional artists,
musical concerts, recitals, festivals, conferences,
lectures, multi-media presentations, community
arts groups, local theatre companies, dance troupes
and school productions. It offers presenters of
all sizes and genres an exciting opportunity to
showcase their talents in a professionally equipped
venue that is both affordable and comfortable.
The
Terry Fox Theatre is located 3 minutes north of
the Lougheed Highway in scenic Port Coquitlam
with easy access from major routes and ample off
street parking. This jewel of a theatre anchors
the northeast corner of Terry Fox Secondary School
named after Canada’s national hero and the
City’s native son. Although attached to
the school, the theatre is operated as a stand-alone
professional facility by the Terry Fox Theatre
Advisory Group (TAG), a registered federal charity
governed by a volunteer board of directors.
The
Terry Fox Theatre exists to inspire, educate and
entertain students, families and residents of
the Tri-Cities, and to celebrate the cultural
diversity of the people who live here. We look
forward to welcoming you to the theatre in the
near future.
